The project is awarded to Mac General Engineering in the amount of 1,432,325.30 Estimated Project Cost Range: $1,500,000.00 to $1,600,000.00 The work involves pavement grind and overlay, and the construction of alley pavement with 2" asphalt over 4" aggregate at various alleys as described in the project plans and specifications. Each bid must be submitted on the form provided in the Contract Documents and be accompanied by cash, a cashier's or certified check, or a bidder's bond from a surety insurer in an amount not less than 10% of the bid. The bid security will be forfeited if the bidder refuses to enter into a contract or provide required payment and performance bonds, certificates of insurance, and endorsements if awarded the work. All bids must be sealed and clearly marked as specified. No bid will be accepted from a contractor who is not properly licensed under the State Business and Professions Code. The required contractor's license classification is General Contractor Class A. The successful contractor and subcontractors will be required to possess the correct license for their classifications and valid city business licenses. The project is subject to prevailing wage requirements and compliance monitoring by the Department of Industrial Relations. Only contractors and subcontractors registered with the Department of Industrial Relations may be listed in bid proposals. Bids failing to comply with applicable labor code requirements will be deemed nonresponsive. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, select the schedule under which bids will be compared, and to waive nonmaterial irregularities in any bid.
