Sealed bids for the 2026 Street Rehabilitation (Various Streets) Project No. PV2601 will be received at the office of the City Clerk, City of Emporia, Kansas, at 104 E. 5th Avenue. Plans and bid documents are on file at the office of the City Engineer, 522 Mechanic Street, P.O. Box 928, Emporia, KS 66801. The cost for plans and bid documents is fifty dollars ($50), nonrefundable. If requested by UPS, there is a twenty dollar ($20) additional fee; an electronic copy is available for a flat rate fee of twenty dollars ($20). The City of Emporia 2018 Master Set of Specifications is available for $20 for a hard copy. Contractors must have a current set of City Master Specs or a signed contractor’s acknowledgement on file with the City Engineer’s Office confirming they have read and shall abide by the 2018 Master Set of Specifications found on the City Web page in order to bid. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or approved bidder's bond not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid amount. Any bid bond must be with a surety and guaranty company authorized to do business in Kansas and acceptable to the City. The awarded Contractor must furnish a statutory bond and performance and maintenance bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract. Bonds must be acceptable to the City of Emporia and conform to Contract document requirements. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive defects. No bids may be withdrawn for sixty (60) days after the bid opening.
