The work consists of repair and rehabilitation of waterfront infrastructure at USCG Station Portsmouth Harbor under Phase 2 of the project. The base bid includes chinking and repointing the north quay wall; repairing sinkholes and voids at the dumpster pad area east of the quay wall through partial demolition, excavation, construction of a concrete closure wall, backfill, and restoration with base course and bituminous pavement; and removal and replacement of existing fencing along the north quay wall within the limits of repair. Additional base work includes repairs to the south quay wall using an interim stone berm, repair of voids in the quay wall face, and repair of a sinkhole behind the wall; restoration of the north rip-rap revetment; repair of sinkholes and voids in the west parking area behind the north revetment including pavement removal, backfill, and resurfacing; removal and replacement of fencing at the top of the north revetment; recoating wave screen guide piles from mean low water to the top of piles, replacement of a broken cleat, and installation of sacrificial anodes; and installation of a new timber floating dock to replace a previously removed concrete floating dock damaged by storm events. Option Bid Item 1 includes construction of a rip-rap revetment extending the west end of the existing south quay wall to fill lower-elevation areas of adjacent ledge outcroppings. Option Bid Item 2 includes installation of high-density polyethylene pile sleeves on existing steel piles associated with the wave screen and floating dock. All work shall be performed in accordance with the project specifications, drawings, applicable local, state, and federal codes, and all required permitting.
