Site work, remodeling and renovation of a military facility in New Castle, New Hampshire. Completed plans call for the remodel of a military facility.
Project Description: The project consists of earthwork repairs to the Station waterfront. Project is to excavate, support and replace fill within the waterfront area, in the vicinity of the SAR/Training Building and Boathouse as per the project documents. Scope includes: a) The contractor shall provide all equipment, materials, and tools as required to sawcut and remove existing asphalt pavement, along approximately 85 feet of quay wall, excavate to a minimum of 6 feet below the top of the quay wall while temporarily supporting it, lay a bottom leveling course of 4-6” stone, install 2layers of non-woven geotextile fabric (12oz/sq yd min) above the leveling course and extending up the back face of the quay wall, and install 2” minus crushed stone to existing grade. Crushed stone fill shall be laid in one-foot (max) layers and shall be compacted by an approved vibratory plate compactor prior to installing the next layer of crushed stone, including up to the final layer of crushed stone to existing grade. b) Saw cutting of existing asphalt will be as indicated on the attached plan of area. Any additional areas deemed necessary; contractor will inform Contracting Officer’s Representative prior to work. c) Existing underground utility piping exposed during the above work shall be inspected for integrity and temporarily supported until it is backfilled. Compaction equipment shall not be directly upon utility piping where it could break/rupture utilities. Underground utilities anticipate to be encountered include electric, water and fuel piping. See attached utility plan for locations. d) In areas with existing asphalt pavement or concrete, stone fill will be installed to existing grade. No new asphalt will be laid over area. e) Portions of the existing chain-link fencing that will be required to be removed will be re-installed after the excavation and material fill is complete. f) Project area includes locations that impact Coast Guard access and operations as well access to adjacent UNH property. Prior scheduling and approval shall be received before any work that would restrict access to any area. But not limited to please review the specifications for more information. Prevailing Wages Apply. Contract duration = 80 calendar days Subcontractor proposals are due to CCI by NOON, Wednesday, June 04, 2025.
