Furnish all labor, equipment, and materials required in the installation and construction of the Quarry Road Connector Trail Project, City of Columbia, Monroe County. Proposals shall be submitted on forms furnished by the City of Columbia and enclosed in an envelope endorsed with the project name. The right is reserved to waive technicalities and to reject any or all proposals. A proposal guarantee in the form of a certified or bank cashier's check or bid bond in the amount of 5% of the total bid price will be required. The successful bidder at the time of execution of the contract will be required to furnish performance and payment bonds, each in an amount at least equal to the contract price, as security for faithful performance and payment of all contractor obligations. The successful bidder will also be required to furnish a valid certificate of insurance naming the City of Columbia as additionally insured in the amounts noted in the specifications. The current prevailing wage rates shall apply. The City encourages minority business firms to submit bids and successful bidders to utilize minority businesses as subcontractors. This project is partially financed with State of Illinois Bike Grant Program funding assistance through the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. Pre-qualification requirements: All bidders must be prequalified by the Department of Transportation of the State of Illinois for the classification of work involved in this project.
