Furnishing all labor, material and equipment, and performing all work required for construction of approximately five thousand seventy-seven (5,177) 1-inch single service water lines, twenty-five (25) 1 1/2 -inch single service waterlines, and seventy-six (76) 2-inch single service water lines, together with all necessary appurtenances, by using a trenchless installation method (directional drilling, pipe bursting, or push/pull insertion) without open-cutting the roadway or driveway. Service lines shall be classified as either short service lines or long service lines. A short service line shall mean an existing service line connecting to the water meter that is located on the same side of the street as the water main. A long service line shall mean an existing service line connecting to the water meter that is located on the opposite side of the street from the water main. Estimate: $10,200,000.00 Proposals shall be accompanied by a cashier's or certified check upon a national, state bank or savings and loan in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total maximum bid price, payable without recourse to the City of Murphy, or a bid bond in the same amount from a reliable surety company, holding a permit from the State of Texas to act as surety, as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract and execute performance bond and payment bond within ten (10) days after notice of award of contract to him.
