Sealed bids are requested for furnishing all materials, labor, tools, skills, equipment, and incidentals necessary for the construction of the State Route 20 Widening Water Main Relocation from East Cherokee Drive to SR 369. Principal construction items include installation of 9,100 LF of 20” DIP Water Main, 2,000 LF of 12” DIP Water Main, 13,000 LF of 8” DIP Water Main, and 763 LF of 30” Steel Casing (Bored and Open Cut). The work must be completed within a maximum of 1,215 consecutive calendar days, with substantial completion required within 480 calendar days, including material procurement, installation of all proposed water mains and services, abandonment/removal of existing water mains, and the initial record drawing survey. Only a bid submitted by a Contractor on record with the Engineer of Record as having received plans and specifications from the Engineer of Record will be opened. Bidders must inform themselves concerning Georgia Law and comply accordingly. Plans, specifications, and contract documents are available for inspection at designated offices, and may be obtained through payment. Only bids from contractors who have received plans and specifications from the Engineer of Record will be accepted. Each bid must be accompanied by a cashier’s check, certified check, or a bid bond of not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid amount. All bids must be submitted on the provided bid form with no alterations. No bid may be withdrawn for 120 days after the closing time. A Contractor Qualification Statement and Questionnaire must be fully completed and submitted with the bid. Subcontractors performing more than 20 percent of the work must also meet minimum qualifications. Failure to meet these qualifications will result in disqualification. Performance and payment bonds meeting contract requirements will be required from the successful bidder. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive formalities, re-advertise, and adjust the contract as needed.
