NS.19199.00 The work is generally described as follows: Base Bid - Install AWOS III P/T with associate pad improvements and fencing. The contract time is 180 calendar days for AWOS material procurement (Phase 0) and 45 calendar days for all field work (Phase 1). Liquidated damages in the amount of $500.00 will be assessed for each consecutive calendar day thereafter. Sealed bids are requested for the construction described above. Bids must be received by the specified deadline and will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids received after the specified time will not be accepted. Bidders must be qualified under Mississippi Law and show a current Certificate of Responsibility issued by the Mississippi Board of Public Contractors, establishing classification as to the value and type of construction work for which authorized. Contractors must be qualified under Mississippi Law and be registered as a licensed general contractor capable of performing the required work. Non-resident bidders must attach a copy of their resident state's current laws regarding treatment of non-resident contractors. Bids must be submitted on the standard form of bid proposal and include a Bid Bond in the amount of 5% of the Bid. The successful bidder must execute the standard form of Contract and Agreement, together with a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond, within 10 days after formal award of the contract. Bids are to be held good and may not be withdrawn for 90 calendar days after the scheduled closing time for receiving bids. This project is subject to minimum wage and labor provisions of the Davis-Bacon Act and other federal requirements as detailed. Disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids and no businesses will be discriminated against on the grounds specified. The City of Columbus reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities or irregularities.
