The City is seeking to engage up to three prequalified structural engineering consulting firms to provide on-call emergency services for the city's building inspections group and fire department, focused on privately-owned buildings. Services may include review of any building structural damage or deficiency and assessment of risks to building occupants and the public; review of façade and building envelope components; review of temporary structures including construction shoring, guardrails, pedestrian protection, etc.; review of safety measures at construction and demolition sites that impact the public, adjoining properties and streets or public property; and providing recommendations with respect to temporary measures needed to address unsafe conditions. The selected firms are required to be able to respond to emergency services requests within two hours any day of the week, 24 hours a day. This opportunity is open only to those prequalified parties who have received notification from the City prior to the submission deadline that they are prequalified for engineering and architectural services in the Buildings Structural discipline. Requests for proposals for design services is underway.
