The Spec Martin Field Replacement project will consist of multiple improvements to enhance the facility's playing surface, drainage, & irrigation. Existing sod will be removed. The field will be regraded to improve slopes, and drainage. Four new Nyloplast drainage basins will be installed at the north end of the field along with new storm drain piping. Existing sidewalk, in the northwest and northeast corners, will be removed, regraded to match the new elevations around the edge of the field, and reinstalled. Irrigation valves and rotors will be replaced, as well as adding a new irrigation zone to accommodate six new quick couplers, which will allow the field to be irrigated by hoses to supplement regular irrigation as required.
