Renovation of a mixed-use development in Bishop, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The award of a contract is sought for the construction of the BUSD Roofing Project at Bishop Elementary School, Home Street Middle School, and Bishop Unified High School. The Owner reserves the right to add or deduct any items after determining the lowest responsible and responsive bidder based on the base bid amount. Prequalification is required. The project is subject to prevailing wage laws, compliance monitoring, and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. For projects over $25,000, contractors and subcontractors must be currently registered to perform public work and provide proof of registration. Each subcontractor performing more than 0.5% of the total bid must have their registration number stated on the Designation of Subcontractors form. Bids must be sealed and submitted before the specified deadline; late bids and faxed copies will not be accepted. A mandatory pre-bid site visit is required, and failure to attend will result in disqualification. Bids must include a bidder's bond, cashier's check, or certified check for at least 10% of the base bid. The successful bidder must furnish both Payment and Faithful Performance Bonds, each for 100% of the Contract Sum, and may substitute securities or establish an escrow in lieu of retainage. Only contractors licensed in California with a Class C-20 license at the time of award and through contract completion and warranty periods will be considered.
