The Village Board for the Village of Iola, Waupaca County, is requesting bids for a proposed road improvement on East Ellefson, Hill Street, and Sunset Drive (from Water Street intersection down 750 feet) for paving. The project consists of pulverizing the existing asphalt pavement on East Ellefson Street (from John Street to Adams Street), Hill Street (from South Jackson to its termination), and Sunset Drive (from the starting of Water Street down 750 feet). The remaining pulverized/base course material should be fine graded, watered, and compacted. The contractor must provide traffic control, signage, and flagging as needed. Saw cutting of existing pavement should be done if needed. The Village will provide a truck and loader and will haul away excess pulverized material if needed. The paving is to use Hot Mix Asphalt, type 4LT58-28 at 2.5 inches thickness, with a 1-foot asphalt approach placed at each driveway entrance. Bids must be sent in a sealed envelope labeled "Village of Iola Road Improvement 2026" with the bidder's name and address. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond equal to 10% of the bid amount, payable to the Village of Iola. A performance bond and a Certificate of Insurance are required. The contract will be awarded based on the total for all projects, and the Village reserves the right to waive informalities or reject any or all bids and to award the contract to the contractor judged to best serve the interest of the Village.
