Sealed bids will be received for the construction of 4.206 miles of asphalt overlay on the Basin-Bexley Road (River Road) under State Aid Program Project No. SAP-20(12)M in George County, Mississippi. The work includes mobilization, supply and placement of crushed stone, in-grade preparation, asphalt base repair, asphalt overlay, leveling, cold milling of bituminous pavement, maintenance of traffic, installation of temporary and thermoplastic traffic stripes, thermoplastic legends, two-way reflective raised markers, and installation of reflectorized traffic signs and markers. The award will be made to the lowest qualified bidder on the basis of published quantities. Bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond for five percent (5%) of the total bid, payable to George County and the State of Mississippi. Proposals accompanied by letters qualifying conditions under which the proposal is tendered will be considered irregular and not evaluated. Plans and specifications are available at designated offices. Proposals may be submitted electronically or in paper format, but must contain all required information and forms. Electronic proposals must be in PDF format with authorized signatures either as a hand-written blue ink signature or an electronic signature. The requirement for a certificate of responsibility or a statement that the proposal does not exceed $50,000 may be met by including the information as an attachment with electronic submittals.
