This project consists of all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to install new 10-inch and 6-inch water mains, fire hydrants and auxiliary valves, interconnections, gate valves, casing pipes, service connections, miscellaneous appurtenances, and related work. Contractors must not pay less than the prevailing rates of wages to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics performing work under this contract, and must comply with the requirements of the Illinois Wages of Employees on Public Works Act. The contract is subject to the American Iron and Steel Requirement regulations. Plans and Bid Documents may be examined at designated locations and purchased from Farley Engineering for $150.00. The following proposal forms must be returned by the Bidder: Contract Document (Cover Sheet), Table of Contents, Advertisement of Bid, Instructions to Bidders, Bid Form / Schedule of Prices, and Bid Bond. Submission of a Bid shall be conclusive assurance and warranty that the Bidder has examined the Plans/Bid Documents and understands all requirements for the performance of Work. The Bidder is responsible for all errors in the Bid Documents resulting from failure to conduct a thorough examination. The Owner will not be responsible for any cost, expenses, losses, or changes in anticipated profits resulting from such failure or neglect of the Bidder. The Bidder shall not take advantage of any error or omission in the Bid Documents. The Bid must be placed in a sealed envelope and clearly marked to indicate its contents. Late submissions will be returned unopened. Bidders may withdraw a Bid before the proposal opening if the request is made in writing or in person.
