Separate written sealed bids are requested for a general contract for furnishing labor and equipment for the construction of various public works items in Brandon, including: sewer bypassing, wastewater system installation and/or repairs, water system installation and/or repairs, pavement removal and replacement, excavation, concrete work, dewatering, cleaning, sewer point repairs, sod, grassing, and other items as shown on the proposal form. Bidders must be qualified under Mississippi State Law with a Certificate of Responsibility issued by the Mississippi State Board of Public Contractors. The bid items require the furnishing of all labor and equipment as needed by the City of Brandon. Payment and performance bond of $250,000.00 is required. Minority and Woman Owned Business Enterprises are solicited and encouraged to inquire about potential subcontracting, equipment, material, or supply needs. Proposals must include Certificate of Responsibility and Mississippi Contractors License numbers on the envelope, be submitted in duplicate, sealed, and deposited with the City Clerk before the deadline. The City reserves the right to waive any irregularities, accept any bid deemed in the city's best interest, or reject any or all bids. Unit prices for the work exclude material costs except for sod and grassing, as the City will provide materials for all other items. The intent is to establish unit prices for anticipated work that may be necessary to repair city-owned infrastructure in emergency or certain other situations. Bids will be compared and awarded at the time services are needed based on the required pay items, quantity, unit price, and bidder availability.
