Separate written sealed bids are requested for a General Contract for furnishing all labor and materials for the construction of the 2026 Rankin First Offsite Sewer Improvements. The project includes, but is not limited to, the installation of approximately 6,700 linear feet of 18" gravity sewer and associated manholes, connections, and all other necessary appurtenances required to complete the project as specified in the plans and contract documents. Bidders must be qualified under Mississippi State Law and present a Certificate of Responsibility issued by the Mississippi State Board of Public Contractors. Bid security in the amount of 5% of the bid must accompany each bid. Attorneys-in-fact who sign Bid Bonds, Payment Bonds, or Performance Bonds must file a certified and effective dated copy of their Power of Attorney with each bond. All proposals must include the Certificate of Responsibility number and Mississippi Contractors License number on the outside of the sealed envelope, be submitted in duplicate, sealed, and delivered to the City Clerk prior to the designated hour and date. Electronic bidding submissions are also available. Minority and Woman Owned Business Enterprises are encouraged to bid and consider subcontracting opportunities. The City of Brandon will not discriminate based on legally protected status. No contractor may withdraw their proposal within sixty (60) days after the opening. The contract time is 210 consecutive calendar days, with liquidated damages of $1,000 per calendar day thereafter. The City reserves the right to waive irregularities, accept the bid in the City's best interest, or reject any or all bids.
