Renovation of a detention facility in Ottawa, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.
As of April 23, 2026, this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded on May 14th, 2026. Remove two chiller units and related components from the lower level of the jail. Remove two split condensing units from the jail roof. Provide two single packaged chiller units on grade near the jail. Associated work includes concrete pads, modifications to piping, pumps, controls system, and electrical system along with commissioning, testing, and balancing of components being installed. Contract is a single prime lump sum contract. Bidder must provide bid security of not less than five percent of the bid amount. The successful bidder must furnish and pay for a performance bond and payment bond in the full contract amount. The successful bidder must also provide a criminal background investigation for all employees involved in the project, including (1) completion and submission of a "Uniform Conviction Information Act Name Inquiry" form with the Illinois State Police for each employee, (2) completion of a website search to determine if any employee involved in the project has any history as a sexual offender, and (3) completion of the "Criminal Background Certification" form included in the Project Manual for each employee. The successful bidder must comply with all applicable state acts regarding wage rates, discrimination, sexual harassment, alcohol use, preference to Illinois workmen, fair employment practices, and equal employment opportunity. No Illinois O.E. sales tax will be required for this work. The successful bidder must pay not less than the prevailing rates of wages as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor and comply with the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act. Contractors' bonds must guarantee faithful performance of the prevailing wage clause.
