The City of New Haven Elderly Services Department is seeking competitive sealed bids for cleaning services at the Elderly Services Community Senior Centers. Bidders are required to have at least three years of prior experience in janitorial cleaning for industrial, municipal, or institutional facilities. Bidders must furnish all equipment and supplies necessary for janitorial services, including disposable products, cleaning supplies, and commercial cleaning equipment. Cleaning materials must be industry-approved and environmentally safe, with a logbook containing MSDS at each site. Cleaning requirements include daily, monthly, and quarterly tasks, supervisor inspections, maintenance of checklists, and prompt correction of any issues. Cleaning personnel must have blood borne pathogen training and adhere to scheduling requirements at each location. The contractor is only paid for days worked and must use city-approved green cleaning products. All work must meet industry-accepted standards. Bid pricing is based on a weekly rate, with supplies included in the hourly rate. Invoicing is monthly, with separate breakdowns by location and week. Holiday hours are excluded unless approved for special projects. Additional bidder instructions include mandatory electronic submission via the City’s eProcurement portal, acknowledgement of all addenda, adherence to bid security and insurance requirements, and compliance with local living wage rates. No alternate responses or unsolicited substitutions will be considered unless explicitly permitted. Bidders must not alter the provided calculation sheet, must comply with equal employment and local hiring ordinances, and may withdraw bids before the deadline electronically. All awarded contracts are contingent upon funding availability and require electronic invoices.
