Sealed bids to supply various grades of limestone aggregate will be received. The purpose is to provide Athens County and all villages and townships with limestone aggregate products that meet or exceed bid specifications. Products offered must meet or exceed ODOT specifications. The limestone must not contain flint, soapstone, sharp edges, dirt, or other fine materials; it must be washed if necessary. Bids shall include separate pricing for material only, trucking only, and material delivered. The price per ton must cover all grades of limestone and include the cost of pickup and delivery to any location in Athens County specified by the Engineer or representative. Delivery must begin within 24 hours of order and be completed within a reasonable time as determined by the Engineer. Typical grades include #8, #57, #67, 617, 304, and Class C Rip Rap, but bids for all grades will be accepted. Delivery sites most often include the Canaanville yard, with prices also for delivery to Coolville and Redtown outposts. All applicable hauling permits and local, State, and Federal laws must be followed. Loads must be legal per State of Ohio laws, and materials must be of satisfactory quality. Non-adherence to guidelines may result in revocation of the bid and rejection of substandard materials without payment. Bids should be clearly marked "Stone Bid" on the envelope. The Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
