The project consists of the demolition of a church located at 2812 Niobrara Avenue in Sioux City, Iowa. The scope of work includes demolition of the structure, removal of debris, and site work. Asbestos has already been abated. The contractor is responsible for verifying that all utilities have been disconnected. Work must begin upon receipt of the Notice to Proceed and be fully completed within 30 calendar days. Specifications are based on the 2026 version of the Iowa Statewide Urban Standard Specifications for Public Improvements, as modified by the 2024 City of Sioux City Supplement, with special attention to Division 10, Demolition. Bidders must submit their bid on a form provided by the City and include a bid bond, cashier's check, or certified check/share draft drawn on an Iowa bank or credit union, amounting to ten percent (10%) of the bid, payable to the City Treasurer. This may be cashed as liquidated damages if the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract within 10 days after notice of award and post a satisfactory bond for fulfillment of the contract. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, but the City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, readvertise, or waive informalities in the best interest of the City.
