As of May 06, 2026, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for the award has not yet been established. Constructing sidewalk improvements along SR-59 from E. Azalea Avenue to Pride Boulevard in Baldwin County, Alabama. The principal items of work include approximately 3,341 square yards of concrete sidewalk (4" thick), 247 cubic yards of 0-4' high retaining wall, 1,164 square feet of detectable warning surface, 324 square yards of curb ramp, 4,960 square yards of solid sod, and 3,386 linear feet of silt fence. The entire project shall be completed in 120 calendar days. A cashier's check (drawn on an Alabama bank) or bid bond for 5% of the amount bid (maximum of $10,000.00) and made payable to the City of Foley, Alabama must accompany each bid. Proof of all applicable licensures, as well as proof of insurance coverages of the types and amounts as set forth in the project specifications, will be required prior to award and prior to beginning work, respectively. The contractor will be required to perform work amounting to at least 30% of the total contract cost with their own organization. Contractor prequalification is not required to bid on this project, but the award will not be made to any bidder disqualified by ALDOT at the time of award, nor to any affiliate or owner linked to a disqualified person. Bids must be submitted on complete original proposals made available by the owner. Bid documents (including plans and proposals) are available upon payment of a refundable deposit. No bid documents will be distributed later than 24 hours prior to the scheduled opening of bids. The proposed work must conform with federal regulations, the Federal Highway Act, and related laws. The project is subject to the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act and its implementing regulations. MBE/DBE participation is encouraged but not required. Minimum wage rates apply. The right to reject any or all bids and to disregard minor irregularities is reserved by the owner.
