The City of Meriden is seeking the services of a contractor to perform citywide paving. Bidders must submit a Bid Bond in the amount of ten percent of the amount bid. Labor and Material Payment Bond and a Performance Bond for one hundred percent of the contract price will be required of the lowest responsible bidder. Minimum wage rates must be paid under this contract. The contract is subject to state contract compliance requirements, including spending allocation goals (25% SBE and 6.25% M/W/DisBE) and non-discrimination requirements. Disadvantaged, minority, small, and women business enterprises are encouraged to respond. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, to award any item, group of items, or total bid, and to waive informality or technical defects if it is deemed to be in its best interest. No bidder may withdraw its bid within sixty days of the date of the bid opening. The project will consist of the milling and overlay of various roadways in the City of Meriden totaling approx. 4.78 miles in length. Refer to roadway list titled "Citywide Paving Program Spring 2026 Roadway List" included with this bid package for approximate limits of work. Work will include, but not limited to, a 2" fine mill of existing pavement, a 2" overlay of Class 2 bituminous pavement, driveway aprons and painted pavement markings. It is anticipated that the project will commence in mid to late-April of 2026.
