Renovation of an educational facility in Meriden, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The City of Meriden is seeking a licensed contractor to provide labor and materials for replacing the roofing at Edison Middle School, 1355 North Broad Street, Meriden, CT 06450. The roof replacement should include PVC membrane roofing to return the building to a leak-free, low-maintenance condition. Work must comply with applicable Connecticut building codes and regulations and requirements of the State of Connecticut Department of Administrative Services Office of School Construction Grants & Review (OSCG&R) for reimbursement. Bidders must examine all documents and visit the site to familiarize themselves with existing requirements, conditions, and difficulties. All bids must be electronically submitted via the City eProcurement Portal and accompanied by a Bid Bond of 10% of the amount bid. Labor and Material Payment Bond and a Performance Bond for 100% of the contract price will be required of the lowest responsible bidder. Prevailing wage rates and state contract compliance requirements, including allocation goals for subcontractors and non-discrimination, must be met. Bidders are required to complete and upload the Non-Collusive Bid Statement, Bidder's Qualification Statement, Form of Surety Guaranty, and Bid Bond. Local subcontractors, suppliers, and labor in the City of Meriden should be considered where practical. All work must be performed in a workmanlike manner, and all necessary permits must be secured prior to the commencement of work. The City of Meriden reserves the right to reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, and to waive informality or technical defects if deemed in its best interest. This bid/contract is subject to state contract compliance requirements, including spending allocation goals (25% SBE and 6.25% M/W/DisBE) and non-discrimination requirements enforced by the CHRO Question Deadline 04/29/2026 at 4:00 PM ET Bidders shall submit all inquiries regarding this bid via the City eProcurement Portal
