Renovation of a military facility in Charleston, South Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a military facility.
Remove and install ceiling grid and tiles in two office spaces, the wardroom area, the galley serving line, and the messdeck area in the barracks building. Work includes furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary to complete the replacement in accordance with the Statement of Work and in compliance with all applicable requirements. All questions regarding this solicitation must be submitted in writing to Jeffrey.A.Andrade@uscg.mil by 5:00 PM EST on March 25th, 2026. Please include the solicitation number in the subject line of the email. To maintain fairness, all questions and their corresponding answers will be posted on the solicitation no later than 5:00 PM EST on March 27th, 2026, for visibility to all interested vendors. Questions submitted after the March 25th question deadline will not be answered. SBE (100%) General Work Requirements a) Furnish all labor, tools, equipment, and materials to install new ceiling grid in rooms 102 (approx. 201 sqft), 106 (approx. 157 sqft), wardroom area (approx. 800 sqft), the galley serving line (approx. 112 sqft), and the messdeck area (approx. 1000 sqft)in the barracks building located in the barracks building at U.S. Coast Guard Sector Charleston. b) The Base Bid work generally includes, but is not limited to, the following: c) Contractor shall prep area for installation of ceiling grid. d) Install new ceiling grid and ceiling tiles where existing ceiling grid was originally. e) Contractor shall re-install all fixtures associated with the ceiling. i) Incidental work items not listed in this scope, but necessary to complete the project shall be included. Examples include, but are not limited to: removal, replacement, and installation of smoke/heat detectors, lights, sprinkler heads, speakers, etc. f) Contractor shall provide a detailed electronic list of all materials and quantities used. NEW CEILING GRID INSTALLATION i) The new grid materials must be galvanized or aluminum to ensure there is corrosion resistance and meet the specifications of the ceiling tiles to be installed. The grid shall be white in color and match as closely as possible to existing rooms and hallways. ii) The new tiles in rooms 102 and Wardroom shall be 24-inch by 24- inch squares, made of mineral fiber with a white, lightly textured surface, square edges, compatible with standard suspended ceiling grids, sound-absorbing, Class A fire-rated, and resistant to sagging, staining, fading, mildew, mold, soil, and fire. Armstrong Model #607A, 24" x 24", or equivalent, may be used as an example of acceptable quality and performance. iii) The new tiles in the galley serving line, the Messdeck, and room 106 shall be 24-inch by 24-inch squares, made of mineral fiber with a white, fissured surface, square edges, compatible with standard suspended ceiling grids, and resistant to fire, mildew, mold, sagging, and soil. Armstrong Model #673, 24" x 24", or equivalent, may be used as an example of acceptable quality and performance. iv) Isolate area of installation from rest of building. Perform all work by manufacturer's approved installers, in accordance with the manufacturer's printed instructions. v) Quality Assurance: Contractor shall assure the product is appropriate for the application and environment in which it is to be installed, and that the product is merchantable for service, free of any visible and latent defects, and will perform for the purpose for which it is intended without compromise. vi) If practicable reuse any removed ceiling fixtures. vii) New grid and tiles shall be installed as soon as practicable i.e., long delays due to supply chain, scheduling, or other issues are not acceptable. viii) Attic Stock: Contractor shall provide a minimum of 5% total quantity of each of new types of tiles to the local maintenance staff for future replacement or patching. Attic stock shall be from the same lot and in original packaging with exact matching type, size, pattern, and color. ix) Maintenance: Contractor shall provide manufacturer's maintenance materials, information, and guidelines for product after installation. The total contract performance period is 30 calendar days.
