Sealed bids are invited for the 2026 Hot Mix Asphalt Paving and Associated Work contract for the Westford Department of Public Works. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid security consisting of a bid bond, cash, or certified check in the amount of 5% of the bid price. The successful bidder must furnish performance and payment bonds each in the amount equal to 100% of the contract price. All bids are subject to applicable Massachusetts public bidding laws. Contractors must be prequalified by MassDOT with the class of work as Pavement - Surfacing, for a project with an estimated value of $1,193,791. Attention is directed to the minimum wage rates as determined by the Commissioner of Labor and Workforce Development, and the requirement for weekly payroll record submittals. Selection of the contractor will be based on qualifications, past performance in similar projects, and bid price. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible, responsive, and eligible bidder. Location and Work to be Done The Work generally involves hot mix asphalt paving, milling, casting adjustments, and all work incidental thereto, in accordance with the Specifications and Special Provisions attached hereto including without limitation: MASSDOT STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR HIGHWAYS AND BRIDGES, MASSDOT SUPPLEMENTAL SPECIFICATIONS, MASSDOT CONSTRUCTION STANDARD DETAILS, MASSDOT TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT AND DETAIL DRAWINGS, AND THE MANUAL ON UNIFORM TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES (MUTCD) WITH MASSACHUSETTS AMENDMENTS.
