Description

Site work and new construction of a fire / police facility in Warrensburg, Missouri. Completed plans call for the construction of a 80-square-foot, 10-bed, one-room fire / police facility.

The City of Warrensburg, Missouri is accepting sealed bids for the purchase of one (1) new above ground outside storm shelter. The scope includes the purchase, delivery, and installation of a pre-engineered "Safe Shed" or equivalent high-wind protective structure, to be located at 1550 Corporate Dr, Warrensburg, MO 64093 (Fire Station 2). The shelter must be designed for permanent outdoor placement to provide life safety protection during extreme weather events (tornados). Specifications require that the unit must meet or exceed ICC 500 standards and FEMA P-320 criteria, withstand 250 mph winds, and be constructed from reinforced concrete or heavy-gauge steel with a debris-impact resistant door. The shelter must be painted in two separate colors (light brown body, light colored roof) with sizes accommodating 10 occupants. Standard features include high security locks, a ventilation system, at least three heavy-duty hinges on the doors, and an emergency egress door/hatch on a different wall from the main door.
