This project provides for the asphalt resurfacing of the Turnpike Northbound and Southbound lanes with Stone Matrix and Superpave asphalt mixtures. The project also includes installation of Sonic Nap Alert Patterns (S.N.A.P.s), pavement markings, and maintenance and protection of traffic. Work items include, but are not limited to: Superpave Asphalt Mixture Design Binder Course, Stone Matrix Asphalt Mixture Design Wearing Course, milling of asphalt pavement surface, standard temporary pavement markings (paint and beads, white and yellow), highly reflectorized polyurea pavement marking (white and yellow), black epoxy pavement markings, pavement marking removal, sonic nap alert patterns, barrier mounted delineators (top and side), membrane waterproofing system installed on bridge deck, asphaltic plug expansion joint system, and concrete bridge deck repair. An electronic bid bond with corporate surety in the amount of five percent of the bid must be submitted with the proposal as bid security. A Prequalification Certification and Applicable Capacity Rating assigned by the Prequalification Office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is required for bidding. The provisions of the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act and the applicable rates and regulations are to be applied to this contract.
