The Contractor shall provide semiannual, or as required, commercial vent hood fire suppression system services, repairs, and preventative maintenance for the Business Enterprise Program (BEP) cafeterias in various locations, including state, federal, county office buildings, privately owned building cafeterias, snack bars, convenience stores, and vending machine facilities. Services must comply with Fire Department safety codes and include inspections, testing, recharging, updating service tags, system repairs, fusible link replacement, nozzle cleaning, and cylinder hydrostatic testing or part replacement. Contractor must ensure limited interruption of business operations, coordinate with BEP vendors, and maintain safety protocols. Service hours are five days a week, between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., with higher rates for work outside these hours. Estimates must be provided before work authorization. Service request response time shall not exceed 24 to 48 hours, and emergencies must be addressed within 24 hours. All work is under a 30-day warranty for completed repairs. Contractor must follow notification, arrival verification, and payment procedures, and ensure proper handling of parts, materials, and freight charges. The work area must be kept clean and safe, and any damages to state property caused by the contractor are to be repaired at no expense to the state. Only original manufacturer parts are allowed; used, refurbished, or rebuilt parts are prohibited. Maximum charge per job is $2,000 unless increased by approval.
