Removal and Replacement of PCC Apron Pavement, Base Course Placement, Subgrade Preparation and Storm Sewer At said hearing, the City Council will consider the plans, specifications, proposed form of contract, and estimated total cost for the project, the same now being on file in the office of the City Clerk, 520 4th Avenue, Grinnell, Iowa 50112, reference to which is made for a more detailed and complete description of the proposed improvements, and at said time and place the said City Council will also receive and consider any objections to said plans, specifications, estimate of cost, and form of contract made by any interested party. Goals for minority participation for each trade: 2.4 % Goals for female participation in each trade: 6.9 % 10099480 The Engineer's estimate on the Base Bid is a little over $ 650,000 Work consists of the removal and replacement of PCC apron pavement, base course placement, subgrade preparation, and storm sewer at Grinnell Regional Airport. Work under the base bid improvements (Division A and Division B) must be substantially completed in fifty working days, divided into fifteen working days for Phase 1 and thirty-five working days for Phase 2. Phase 1 must be substantially completed before starting Phase 2 improvements. Phase 2 includes subphases 2A and 2B, which must be coordinated per instructions. Bid security in the amount of 5% of the total bid is required. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Bidders must comply with provisions regarding equal employment opportunity, minority and female participation goals, certification of non-segregated facilities, disadvantaged business enterprise participation, Davis-Bacon wage requirements, Buy American preferences, and various federal regulations. Bids must contain a fully completed Bidder Status Form and must not include sales tax; tax exemption certificates will be provided. All requirements specified in the provided project documents must be met. Failure to meet these or submit required forms may result in rejection of the bid.
