The work generally consists of approximately 240 linear feet of 8-inch PVC water main, 140 linear feet of 8-inch fusible PVC, 540 linear feet of 8-inch ductile iron pipe (DIP) water main, replacement of 289 linear feet of 8-inch DIP gravity sewer, and replacement of 44 linear feet of 7-by-6-foot precast box culvert. Bidders must inform themselves concerning Georgia laws and comply accordingly. Only pre-qualified bidders will be allowed to bid on the project. Proposals must be submitted in the required format, accompanied by a bid bond equal to 5% of the total bid, and successful bidders must furnish performance and payment bonds. Surety and insurance companies must meet specified rating requirements. The time allowed for substantial completion is 90 days, with final completion and readiness for payment within 120 days from the notice to proceed. Bids remain subject to acceptance for 60 days after opening. All bids for utility-related contracts must have the utility contractor’s license number on the envelope. Each bid must be submitted in a sealed envelope plainly marked for the project. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive formalities and re-advertise. Pre-qualification requirements: Evidence of experience and successful completion of similar projects in the past five years, evidence of financial and other resources to complete the work on schedule, and evidence of insurance and bond requirements. Only those notified by the City of Dallas as being on the pre-qualified bidders list may submit bids.
