Renovation of an office development in Washington, District of Columbia. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a 350,000-square-foot office development.
The U.S. Agency for Global Media's 350,000-square-foot lease for Voice of America at 1875 Pennsylvania Ave. NW has been thrown into uncertainty after a March 7, 2026 federal court ruling invalidated all actions taken by Kari Lake during her tenure as senior advisor at USAGM. Because her appointment violated the Appointments Clause and the Federal Vacancies Reform Act, her cancellation of the 15-year lease in March 2025 has been voided. The lease, originally awarded in September 2024 to relocate VOA from the federally owned Wilbur J. Cohen Building to a modern private facility, remains in legal limbo as the court determines whether the lease termination can be reversed or if the building's owner, EastBanc, has moved on. The dispute forms part of a broader legal battle surrounding attempts to restructure USAGM
