Remodeling of a mixed-use development in Valdez, Alaska. Completed plans call for the remodel of a one-unit multi-residential development.
Any questions regarding this project should be directed to Canyon Rohrer, project manager, Deadline for questions is March 31, 2026 at 2:00 PM Alaska Time Remodel of apartment Unit 9 in the Valdez Senior Center. Work will include some activity in all rooms and closets of the unit. General notes: Removal and disposal of any remaining hooks, nails, or screws in walls. Complete wall and ceiling repair and patching as needed. Temporary removal of blinds, curtains, and rods for painting. Kitchen stove, refrigerator, and microwave may be temporarily moved by the contractor to in-building provided storage area and returned to the unit as appropriate to remodel completion. Subfloor renovations as needed for threshold compliance to meet 2010 ADA standards as described in Sections 303 and 404.2.5. Sealed bids are required and must be received by the specified deadline. Bid security in the amount of 5% of the total bid is required. The City reserves the right to waive irregularities or informalities in a bid and to reject any or all bids without cause. Current minimum prevailing wage rates as published by the Alaska Department of Labor must be paid if required by law. Requirements of the Alaska Employment Preference (AS 36.10) must be met. The City encourages disadvantaged, minority, and women-owned firms to respond and is available to assist firms in learning how to do business with the City. The City of Valdez "Standard Specifications and Standard Details" shall be used.
