The project involves the creation of a drainage channel that conveys surface stormwater runoff from adjacent properties to a connection point that maintains positive drainage away from the subject properties. The disturbed area is about 0.07 acres; however, the contractor is responsible for providing erosion and sediment control measures in accordance with the approved plan. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of the City of Decatur, Georgia, negotiable U. S. Government Bonds, or Satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and acceptable in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the estimated cost of construction shall be submitted with each bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for Satisfactory Performance and Payment Bond or Bonds. If said work is not completed within the time stated above, the Contractor shall be liable and hereby agrees to pay the City as liquidated damages and not as a penalty the sum of $150 dollars The Contractor shall commence work under this Contract as soon as possible after the award and must complete work no later than ninety (90) days after the Notice to Proceed.
