The project consists of asbestos abatement and floor replacement at the Medway Middle School, located at 45 Holliston Street, Medway, Massachusetts. The work includes the removal and disposal of asbestos-containing flooring in various areas and the replacement of flooring in the disturbed areas. Bidders should refer to Appendix A of the bidding documents for approximate quantities. All work must be in accordance with specifications prepared by Universal Environmental Consultants. Bid instructions include: - Submit two complete and identical sets (one original and one copy) of the proposal in a sealed envelope marked with the bidder's name, address, and project title. - If mailing, enclose the sealed bid envelope in another envelope, addressed as specified. - Late submissions will not be accepted. - Each bid must be accompanied by a bid deposit of not less than 5% of the bid amount (in the form of certified check, treasurer's check, cashier's check, or bid bond) made payable to Medway Public Schools. - Upon contract execution, the successful bidder must furnish a performance bond and a payment bond, each in the amount of 100% of the total contract price, from a surety company qualified to do business in Massachusetts. - Bids are binding for ninety days (excluding weekends and legal holidays) after the opening. - All bids are subject to Massachusetts General Laws c.149, 44A through 44L, prevailing wage rates, and other legal requirements. - The awarding authority reserves the right to waive informalities, accept or reject bids (in whole or in part), or make no award.
