A. The intent of this section is to generally describe / clarify the work to be performed under the Parking Lot 2 North Jackson contract that will be awarded to construct the work intended on the drawings and outlined herein. B. The intent and meaning of the Contract Documents is that this Contractor shall provide labor, plant, materials, supplies, equipment, transportation facilities and appurtenances thereto which are indicated or reasonably implied by the Drawings and Specifications to provide a complete project. The contractor is made aware that strict coordination with all other Prime Contractors is required. This Contractor is responsible for their clean up and project security at all affected levels and elsewhere as required and as outlined in detail hereinafter. This Contractor is reminded of and made aware that the building is occupied and any noise, traffic, power outages, etc. which may disrupt the operations will not be tolerated without strict coordination. Coordination for the above will be made including phased or after-hours work. Sealed proposals are invited from qualified General Contractors for the Parking Lot 2 North Jackson, Montgomery, Alabama project. Bid documents are available for examination and can be obtained via digital or physical copy with an administrative fee or deposit. Only competent and responsible bidders, licensed under Alabama law, are eligible. Bidders must include evidence of licensing on the bid envelope. Emergency Responder Radio Performance Design must be by an Alabama-licensed Professional Communications Engineer. Fire alarm installation requires certification compliance as specified by the Alabama Certified Fire Alarm Act, with certain NICET certification requirements for technicians and contractors. All fire alarm bidders must present required certification and permits at the pre-proposal conference. Bids must be accompanied by a cashier's check or bid bond in an amount not less than five percent of the bid, not exceeding $10,000, and must remain valid for at least 60 days. A list of major subcontractors must be included. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance are required if the contract award exceeds $50,000. Conditional bids will be rejected. The awarding authority reserves the right to reject all bids and to waive irregularities.
