Site work and paving for a road / highway in Brookline, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

Sealed bids are to be addressed to the Commissioner of Public Works, Brookline, and endorsed "Townwide Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon Safety Project", Contract No. PW/26-24. Bid security in the form of a bid bond or certified check in the amount of 5% of the bid, payable to the Town of Brookline, is required and must be delivered separately from the proposal. The successful bidder shall furnish guarantee bonds in the form of a performance bond and a payment bond, each equal to 100% of the bid, from a surety company satisfactory to the Town. Minimum wage rates set by the Massachusetts Department of Labor and Industries must be followed and compliance with the Town's Affirmative Action program and relevant by-laws is required. Proposal pages must be submitted for comparison of bids. MassDOT prequalification in the class of work as TRAFFIC SIGNALS, with an estimated value of $142,600.00, is required. The Commissioner of Public Works reserves the right to reject any or all bids, accept any bid, or defer the start of work operations as deemed in the best interest of the Town. Question Deadline 04/03/2026 All final questions concerning the contract documents and the work contained therein must be submitted in writing to Dylan Pollmann-Blom through email at dpollmannblom@brooklinema.gov The work to be done under this contract includes but is not necessarily limited to the following: Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) Crosswalk Systems, furnished by the Town of Brookline, shall be installed as shown on the plans and as directed by engineer. Areas disturbed by RRFB installation shall be restored in kind. Pre-Bid Meeting 04/02/2026 at 2:00 PM ET Work shall also include removing and resetting, retaining, or removing and stacking existing signage, posts, and poles, as identified in the plans and as directed by the Engineer. The Contractor shall be responsible for the following: o Picking up all Town-furnished RRFB equipment at a Town-designated location. o Inspecting all materials at the time of pickup and notifying the Engineer of any shortages or damages. o Safeguarding, transporting, and storing the equipment until installation. o Installing all foundations and related civil work required for RRFB installation, including excavation, disposal, concrete, backfill, compaction, and surface restoration. o Restoring all disturbed sidewalk areas with full-depth Portland cement concrete to match the existing thickness, finish, grade, and joint pattern. Sawcut edges shall be neat and straight, and concrete shall be placed tightly around the foundation to provide a continuous, flush, and ADA-compliant walking surface. o Restoring all disturbed landscaped areas, including loam, topsoil, grass, mulch, and plantings, to equal or better condition than existing prior to construction. o Assembling, installing, wiring, and placing into full operation all RRFB systems at the locations shown on the plans and as directed by the Engineer. o Providing all labor, incidental materials, hardware, wiring, programming, mounting components, and appurtenances necessary for a complete and operational installation. o Field verifying all installation locations and notifying the Engineer of any conflicts prior to construction. o Any damage to Town-furnished materials after pickup by the Contractor shall be repaired or replaced at no additional cost to the Town.
