Informal bids are requested for a new roof on the Macon County Detention Center. Bids must be received by 4:00 pm on April 8, 2026, in the office of the Purchasing Agent at the Macon County Annex Building. Bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes and clearly marked as "Bid for Roof-Macon County Detention Center due April 8, 2026 at 4 pm." A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at 1:00 pm on March 25, 2026, at the Macon County Detention Center. All minority and historically underutilized businesses are encouraged to submit bids. The county reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Furnish & Install: Removal ballast rock and EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) and replacement with new TPO (Thermoplastic Polyolefin) membrane to achieve a 20- year manufacturer's warranty. 1. Remove the existing ballast rock and roofing membrane and dispose of rock and membrane properly 2. Install a 60 mil TPO roofing system including all flashings and terminations using "full-adhesion" process 3. Install up to 400' of appropriate walk pad 4. Remove existing skylights and replace with 14 new skylights with appropriate flashing and terminations 5. Remove and replace any roof decking as needed due to possible damage. All extra repairs to roof decking to be approved by Macon County Maintenance Supervisor prior to repair work Provide a 20-year manufacturer's no dollar limit warranty and a 2-year workmanship warranty Approx. 13,000 sq.ft.
