Install orange safety fence around work areas and shall protect the public at all times. All equipment and materials necessary to complete the project shall be mobilized to the site before work beings on the steam . No major grading activities are to take place during and/or predicted wet weather. Work shall be staged such that no additional stream bank or adjacent slopes are disturbed than cannot be stabilized at the end of that work day. The stems and root masses of exotic invasive species ( multi-flora rose, Chinese privet, etc.) generated during grading operations shall be disposed in an approved off-site location. All equipment shall be cleaned prior to mobilization and shall be maintained to be free of leaks. Fueling shall be performed in a contained area at least 200 feet from flowing water. Live stakes and bioengineering practices shall be installed during the dormant season, typically November through March. MOBILIZATION, CULVERT REPLACEMENT, CHANNEL: Mobilize equipment and materials to the site and locate limits of disturbance. Spray aquatic safe herbicide on non-native plants along stream banks downstream of culvert. Install pump around upstream of work area. Use dewatering pump as needed within work area and discharge through silt bag or to grassed area 50' from stream. Remove existing culvert and replace with new culvert; install boulder headwalls. Strip non-native plants from banks. Apply seed and mulch to stripped areas, and add coir matting to slopes steeper than 3:1 . Install stone toe and dismantle pump-around and return flow to the channel. DEMOBILIZATION: Rip compacted soil in staging area; Seed with fescue and apply mulch. Remove safety fences. Remove trash, debris and restore disturbed areas to their pre-construction conditions. PLANTING/BIOENGUNEERING: are root plants and live stakes shall be installed during the dormant season.
