Renovation of an educational facility in Toronto, Ontario. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Seneca’s Newnham Campus consists of multiple interconnected buildings. Hot water for buildings D and E is prepared by a central gas boiler plant located on Level 1 of Building D. Hot Water (HW) is used for heating and Domestic Hot Water (DHW) generation. The 5 gas fired boilers are housed in an enclosed boiler room which forms part of a larger mechanical room containing the campus’ main chiller plant, heating and cooling pumps, and electrical equipment. The current gas fired boilers are estimated at 30 years old. Two of the boilers have undergone heat exchanger replacements at the start of 2026. As of now, 4 boilers are operational, with the fifth boiler being in decommissioned state, while remaining on site. The base scope includes the removal of 1 decommissioned gas fired boiler, while leaving the remaining 4 gas-fired boilers in operation. Supply and install a new electric boiler and connect to the existing heating system. Provide controls to operate the new electric boiler in sequence with existing equipment, while prioritizing the operation of the new electric boiler. Commission and provide start-up for new equipment. Official bid documents must be obtained from www.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform.
