**As of May 08, 2026, the project was awarded to Martin & Company, with an awarded amount of $1,273,605.70.** Construct a 10 foot wide multi-use path approximately 1.9 miles long. Work will include earth excavation, construction of pavements, pipe culverts, cast-in-place concrete box culvert, precast concrete box culvert, concrete gutters, concrete sidewalk, concrete median surface, HMA paving, erosion control, pavement marking, signage, and related items. Project begins on new alignment near the intersection of 43rd and 45th Avenue in the City of Sterling, Illinois. Plans and proposal forms shall be obtained electronically in PDF format from the Willett, Hofmann & Associates, Inc. website at www.willetthofmann.com. Contractors shall click on "Bid Login" on the homepage of the website and follow the instructions. The Project Manual PDF can be downloaded from the website by depositing a non-refundable twenty-two dollars ($22.00) by credit card. All work shall be completed in accordance with the terms and conditions of the ordinances of Sterling Park District and Palmyra Township, including all specifications and regulations they refer to. The Contractor shall be familiar with the site locations, methodology of this work and standard construction procedures and practices prior to bidding. The location and elevations as shown on the plans may vary slightly during construction due to existing field conditions not readily apparent until the time of construction. The Engineer does not warrant or guarantee the correctness of the location of existing utility lines and site features as furnished by others. It shall be the contractor's responsibility to verify the correctness of the utilities and features prior to the start of construction by uncovering underground utilities in all locations where he feels the proposed construction may need to be altered to prevent conflicts in line, grade or working clearances.
