Walker County, Georgia is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors for exterior building improvements and ADA updates at 109 S Duke Street, LaFayette, GA. Work will include full exterior window replacement, structural lintel replacement, ADA accessibility upgrades, exterior awning replacement, exterior brick repair, and exterior painting. Sealed proposals will be received at the office of Joe Legge, Walker County Government, 101 S Duke St., LaFayette, GA 30728 until 2:00 p.m. local time on April 21, 2026, and then publicly opened and read aloud at said location. Only inquiries received in writing will receive a response. 1.1 Exterior Window Replacement o Remove and properly dispose of all existing exterior windows. o Verify all field measurements prior to fabrication or ordering of new windows. o Provide and install new exterior windows o 29 windows (approximately 2' x 6', exact dimensions to be field verified) o 1 window (approximately 6' x 6', exact dimensions to be field verified) o Window trim should be Endearing Bronze to match exterior building paint o Install 30 windows to ensure they are weather-tight, properly flashed, insulated, and sealed. o New windows shall be Low-E, aluminum frame, double pane that meets current energy code requirements o Repair and finish exterior surfaces as required to provide a complete and professional installation. 1.2 Lintel Replacement o Remove existing lintels above all window openings. o Provide and install new structurally adequate lintels above each window opening. o Ensure proper structural bearing and compliance with current building codes. o Repair, restore, and repoint surrounding masonry as required to match existing conditions. 1.3 Front Door Replacement (ADA Compliant) o Remove the existing front entry door, frame (if required), and associated hardware. o Provide and install a new ADA-compliant automatic opening door system, including: o Required clear opening width o ADA-compliant threshold o Accessible lever-style hardware o Proper maneuvering clearances o Aluminum frame o Size is 7' x 7' o Ensure installation meets current ADA accessibility standards and applicable building codes.
