C012 Windows or C008 General Construction or C009 General Construction/Alterations & Additions at Ridge Street Early Childhood Center, 13 Arlington Ave., Newark, NJ 07104. 24-685 1. The existing window types have been identified on the architectural drawings. Unless otherwise noted the existing window sash assemblies and related components will be removed and disposed of. Where specified, the existing aluminum window frames that where built integral to the masonry walls will remain in place and the new windows will be anchored through the existing frame and concealed with panning and snap trim. Caulk at the original window is suspected to contain asbestos. Refer to Spec Section 02 81 00. 2. New windows will be projected windows (inward acting) with a combination of fixed and operable sash as indicated by window type on the contract drawings. All aluminum assemblies will have thermal breaks and will be provided with a paint finish. 3. Exterior aluminum shall be Fluoropolymer Two-Coat System, color to be selected by owner. Interior aluminum assemblies shall have a colonial white baked-enamel finish. 4. All new windows will be triple glazed with integral blinds located between the window sashes. Exterior windows will be trimmed with aluminum panning, and the interior perimeter will be finished with an applied snap trim; aluminum panning shall be installed at interior as indicated on the contract drawings. Panning and snap trim will match the painted aluminum window assemblies. 5. All new window assemblies will be installed level and plumb. Assemblies should be shimmed as required for a level, plumb, and stable assembly. Where required or as indicated on the contract drawings, provide and install treated wood blocking at the perimeter of the new assembly. 6. New window assemblies will be dual sealed with a Single-Component Nonsag Hybrid Sealant. Provide a continuous bead of blind sealant to the panning leg before installing the windows. Apply a bond breaker and a continuous bead of sealant around the entire perimeter of the new window assembly where the assembly adjoins the surrounding masonry opening. All sealant must be tooled (without exception). Bidders are reminded that this is an electronic bid. The Newark Board of Education utilizes EC Sourcing Group's Flex RFP electronic bidding system. Bid surety/bond and performance bond are required. All questions must be submitted in writing via the electronic bidding platform prior to the designated deadline.
