Site work and new construction of an educational facility in Smiths Station, Alabama. Completed plans call for the construction of a 8,744-square-foot, one-story above grade educational facility.
Sealed proposals will be received for the Smiths Station Practice Facility Phase 2, Smiths Station, Alabama. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to Lee County Board of Education in an amount not less than five percent of the bid, but not more than $10,000, must accompany the proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and insurance evidence as required in the bid documents are required at the signing of the Contract. Drawings and Specifications may be examined at the office of the Architect and TuscaBlue, and bid documents may be obtained from TuscaBlue or as electronic PDF copies at no charge. Bid bonds must be from an acceptable bonding company licensed in the State and guarantee the bidder will not withdraw the bid for sixty days after the scheduled closing. If accepted, the bidder must enter a formal contract with the Owner. The bid bond and checks of unsuccessful bidders will be returned after the contract award or rejection of all bids, within the guarantee period. Bids must be submitted on forms provided by the Architect. Bidders exceeding the threshold must be licensed under Alabama law and show evidence of license on the envelope. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors in the Owner's judgment. Nonresident bidders must provide a legal opinion regarding the preferences granted by their state of domicile. All bidders are invited to attend a non-mandatory pre-bid conference electronically.
