Remodeling of a municipal facility in Aliso Viejo, California. Completed plans call for the remodel of a municipal facility.

City Of Aliso Viejo City Hall Front Counter Reconfiguration - Finishes/Interior Discrepancies in, and/or omissions from the Plans, Specifications or other Contract Documents or questions as to their meaning shall be immediately brought to the attention of City by submission of a written request for an interpretation or correction to City. Such submission, if any, must be sent to the City of Aliso Viejo Public Works Department by emailing to publicworks@AVCity.org. The work includes demolition and reconfiguration of the city hall public counter. The engineers estimate for this work is approximately $80,000. The Contractor shall have fifteen (15) working days after the starting date specified in the Notice to Proceed to complete the work. Sealed bids for the project are to be received at the Aliso Viejo City Clerk's Office SCOPE OF WORK A. Preconstruction a. Building Permits are not required for this work. b. Shop drawings shall be submitted and approved. c. Site must always remain secure. B. Demolition and Preparation a. The Contractor shall verify all quantities. b. The contractor shall utilize the City's franchise waste hauler CR&R, as necessary, for construction and demolition debris unless a self-hauling plan is approved by the Engineer. c. Existing furniture shall be removed/stored as required and be protected during all construction operations unless otherwise noted. d. Existing partition walls shall be disassembled as required to be moved to complete installations without damaging walls or associated hardware. e. All existing tile flooring in designated work area shall be removed and disposed of. f. Moisture barrier shall be installed if determined necessary and directed by the Engineer. g. Patch interior drywall as required to satisfaction of the Engineer. Prime wall as necessary prior to paint. h. Interior surface preparation shall generally include cleaning of all walls and surfaces of loose, peeling/scaly paint, dirt, dust, rust, chalk and other foreign matter as requiredto provide a clean sound surface for the new coatings and paint. All debris shall be captured and properly disposed of without any entry into the storm drain system. i. Hardware and hardware accessories, plates, machined surfaces, lighting fixtures, and similar items already installed that are not to be painted shall be removed. If removal is not practical, surface protection shall be applied. j. Adjoining surfaces not to be painted shall be protected with suitable cover cloths or other approved materials. Small items and edges shall be masked. k. Paint and stain manufacturer's specifications for surface preparation shall be followed. l. Surfaces that cannot be prepared as specified shall be reported to the Engineer. Proceeding with paint or stain application will be interpreted to mean that substrate conditions were acceptable. m. The Contractor shall provide 4-foot by 8-foot mock-up of each color specified prior to the final installation. n. All required labor, materials, equipment, etc. for surface preparation, removal and disposal shall be considered incidental to the project bid items. C. Installation a. Paint all interior surfaces as designated by the Engineer, excluding doors. b. Colors shall be as designated by the Engineer. c. Flooring shall be installed per manufacturer's specifications at areas designated by the Engineer. d. Moisture barrier shall be installed if determined necessary and directed by the Engineer. e. Rubber baseboards as approved by the Engineer shall be installed at all new flooring locations. f. All items removed for counter installation and/or demolition/restoration shall be reinstalled to the satisfaction of the Engineer. g. All work area debris, dirt, dust, etc. shall be cleaned to the satisfaction of the Engineer. h. All required labor, materials, equipment, etc. for installations shall be considered incidental to the project bid items. D. Warranty a. The contractor shall provide a minimum five-year limited warranty for workmanship, minimum five-year limited manufacturer's warranty on quartz countertop, and lifetime limited manufacturers warranty on flooring materials. 5. MATERIALS A. Countertop shall be Quart, color TBD. B. Cabinets shall be plastic laminate, color TBD. C. The interior paint shall match existing as required. a. Main Walls - Sherwin Williams 'Drift of Mist' (SW 9166) or approved equal. b. Accent Walls - Sherwin Williams 'Cloverdale' (HGSW 3333) or approved equal. D. The interior paint finish shall be Egg Shell, or as approved by the Engineer. E. Modular carpet shall be Bentley 'Opportune' 411455. F. LVT shall be Bentley 'Be On Time' 802017. G. Traditional Wall Base shall be Johnsonite by Tarkett TA4 Gateway WG. H. Flooring moisture sealant shall be Milliken Barrier Coating or approved equal. I. Flooring adhesive shall be Milliken Non-Reactive Standard Adhesive or approved equal.
