The project is for the rehabilitation of a 150,000-gallon elevated water storage tank, including full containment abrasive blasting and removal of lead-based coatings, interior and exterior recoating, structural and appurtenance repairs, safety upgrades, and all work necessary to return the tank to service. Bids are to be submitted on a unit price basis. Each bid must be on the prescribed form and accompanied by a certified check or bid bond payable to the Benton Public Utility Commission in an amount not less than 5 percent of the amount bid. The bid proposal and work must comply with all applicable federal, state, county, and local laws, ordinances, and regulations. The Owner reserves the right to waive irregularities, reject bids, choose the most qualified bidder for the project, and postpone the award of the contract for up to 90 days from the bid opening date. The attention of bidders is directed to the applicable federal and state requirements and conditions of employment to be observed and the minimum wage rates to be paid under this contract. Encouragement is made for small, minority, and women business enterprises to submit bids and for consideration of these groups in subcontracting. Bidders are responsible for downloading bid documents and any addenda, and must verify receipt of addenda in their proposal.
