Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Mazomanie, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; bridge / tunnel; and bridge / tunnel.
Dane County is seeking bids from qualified contractors for the Walking Iron Trail project at 6715 STH 78, Mazomanie, WI. The project involves reconstruction of two existing timber rail bridges and rehabilitation of five existing timber rail bridges for multi-modal use, resurfacing and expansion of a gravel parking lot, approximately three miles of aggregate surface multi-modal trail work, and construction access work. Work items include but are not limited to: removals, excavation for structures, timber bridge construction, culvert and underdrain pipe installation, backfill structure type A, steel and timber rail, excavation common, base aggregate dense, asphaltic overlay, concrete pavement, clearing and grubbing, erosion control, restoration, signing, park kiosk, and temporary and permanent traffic control and signage, plus any incidental items necessary to complete the work. Emerging Small Business (ESB) Goal. The goal of this project is ten percent (10%) ESB participation. Work is to be performed in compliance with all requirements in the request for bids, including all federal requirements for the Federally Funded Transportation Alternatives Program and prevailing wage laws. A mandatory pre-bid conference is scheduled at the project site. All questions must be submitted by the specified deadline, and bid packages are due by the deadline indicated in the request.
