As of April 29, 2026 project was awarded to Fitzgerald Excavating & Trucking Inc, awarded amount is $2,149,768.85. Reconstruction of 3rd St and 1st Ave SW, 2nd St SE, and Willow Circle. The work shall include the following approximate quantities: Remove Bituminous Pavement - 6,150 SY, Common Excavation - 5,250 CY, Aggregate Base Class 5 - 6,840 Ton, Bituminous Wearing and Non-Wearing - 1,670 Ton, RCP Storm Sewer Pipe - 1,690 LF, Sewer Services - 24 Each, Water Services - 24 Each, PVC Sanitary Sewer - 1,850 LF, PVC Water Main - 2,450 LF, HDPE Water Main (Directional Drilled) - 250 LF, Construct Sanitary Manholes - 16 Each, Construct Drainage Structures - 25 Each, Concrete Walk - 16,400 SF, Concrete Driveway - 1,250 SY, Concrete Curb & Gutter B624 - 3,450 LF, Sodding Type Lawn - 6,250 SY, Miscellaneous and Appurtenant Construction Items. A Cash Deposit, Certified Check, or Bidder's Bond, payable to the City of Pine Island, in the amount of not less than 5% of the amount of the bid must accompany each proposal as a guarantee that the bidder, upon award of the Contract will enter into a Contract with the City of Pine Island and furnish a Performance and Payment Bond along with a Certificate of Insurance if awarded the contract. Both the Performance and Payment Bonds must be written for the full amount of the Contract and will be required with the Contract. The deposit will be subject to forfeiture as provided by law. The deposits from the three lowest bidders will be retained by the City of Pine Island until it has arranged financing for the project, but no longer than sixty five (65) days. The City of Pine Island reserves the right to waive any informalities, to reject any or all bids and to award the Contract to the lowest responsible bidder.
