MnDOT requests letters of interest for preliminary and final design for State Project (SP) 6404-104. It is anticipated this project would design a single lane roundabout at the intersection of United States (US) Highway 71/Minnesota (MN) highway 19 and County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 1/Airport Rd. in Redwood Falls, MN. The north leg is a city road that connects to a business frontage road and industrial areas as well as the local airport which includes North Memorial Health Air Care, an air ambulance service. The south leg is County Road 1 which is used as a freight bypass of Redwood Falls, and a connection route to the Lower Sioux Indian Community and Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel and Events Center. The roundabout would be designed to accommodate OSOW freight, similar to others that District 8 has designed and constructed. The purpose of this project is to provide the State with project development, preliminary and detailed design services, and deliverables needed to bring SP 6404-104 to letting on schedule.
