This project replaces the existing walk-in refrigeration system for the County Main Jail at 651 I Street. The new system will serve the existing refrigerated and freezer walk-in rooms serving the facility kitchen in the basement. The project includes new compressorized cooling units, a combination of reused and new refrigerant piping, new evaporator head units in the walk-ins, new insulated cold storage doors and accessory walk-in refurbishments, a new roof-mounted fluid cooler, and temporary walk-in facilities during the construction period. Each bid must also be accompanied by security in the form of a bid bond issued by a corporate surety, a certified check or cashier's check payable to the Treasurer of Sacramento County, or cash for an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the aggregate sum of the bid. The successful bidder shall be required to execute a material and labor Payment Bond and Performance Bond, issued by a corporate surety, acceptable to the County of Sacramento, each for not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price.
