The New Jersey Healthcare System at Lyons Campus requires quarterly, semi-annual, and annual inspections, testing, and maintenance for their fire protection systems. These systems include portable fire extinguishers, monitored fire alarm system components (such as water flow and tamper switches), kitchen hood suppression systems, and fire sprinkler systems (including fire pumps and backflow preventers). The scope includes annual inspections and necessary recycling and replacement of extinguishers, flow tests on fire pumps, inspections of sprinkler backflow preventers, main drain testing, inspections and testing of wet, dry, and anti-freeze sprinkler systems, semi-annual testing of multiple kitchen hood suppression systems (Ansul, Kidde, Buckeye, Denlar), inspections of tamper and waterflow switches, inspection, testing, and maintenance on fire hydrants, full flow testing on hydrants every five years, and replacement of expired sprinkler heads up to 500 per contract year. Technicians must have appropriate NICET certifications and comply with the latest NFPA standards. Contractors are responsible for providing all personnel, supplies, training, and supervision required. Emergency response service is required to provide a qualified technician within 24 hours of notification. Work must be coordinated through the Contracting Office Representative (COR), and all inspections, testing, and maintenance must be documented and reported as specified.
